The musket overtook the longbow due to the ease of training the user and its decreased need for constant practicing. The Car's advantages are similar to thoseof the musket to the longbow. Thus increasing the oppurtunities for people to get better jobs, homes, education, etc. I'm sure you didn't intend to have a conversation about the importance of the invention of the automobile, but I think it's a bit of an interesting subject to point out.The invention and increased accessibility of the car made it possible for more people to easily travel distances that were previously to far to be practical for everyday travel.
